"You must not live in fear!!" -Johnny Blaze-
Don't you just hate it when translators try to translate English movie titles into our national language??
Went to watch Ghost Rider with Ernie on Thurs. Watched the FIRST show on the FIRST day of release! Wee~! After desperately trying to smuggle in our McD (spending Rm2 in the process coz I wanted to get the GSC popcorn stand plastic bag), we were caught by GSC Midvalley's very observant movie usher fella! After contemplating on whether we should finish our food there or eat it after the movie, we decided on the latter.. Bad decision! LOL! But despite all that rushing, neck aches and cold soggy french fries, the movie was well worth it! On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Ghost Rider an 8! May not be as good as Spiderman (especially the graphics) but I liked the movie anyhow!
Anyways, the sypnosis as stated in Ghost Rider official site, is this --> In Columbia Pictures' action adventure Ghost Rider™ superstar motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) strikes a deal with the vile Mephistopheles for the most precious of commodities, his immortal soul. Now Johnny Blaze is forever destined to ride night after night as the host to the powerful supernatural entity known as the Ghost Rider™. So there you have it.. a short sypnosis that doesn't tell much about the movie! LOL! No, really.. You've gotta watch it for yourself but do pay attention to the movie or you really won't understand the villians' backgrounds... unless of course you couldn't be bothered about any other character apart from the hero and heroine... Hehe!
Go now and watch the movie before it becomes old and stale and everyone around you has watched it but you!!! *Grins* And don't wait for the DVD to come out! Some shows are worth the wait (coz they just aren't worth that RM6 - RM11), but Ghost Rider is one movie you've gotta watch while it's still hot in the cinemas!!! Labels: Movies |

Valentine Shoot Down |
Wednesday, February 14, 2007 |
Sigh.. J was dissapointed with the gift I gave him.. What did I give him you ask? Well, it's that baby's toy where toddlers try to fit in blocks of different shapes into their respective holes? Something like a jigsaw puzzle but for those under 2 years of age.. Haha!
Fine.. So I did go overboard with the "oh, J, make sure you handle with care, blah blah" and I wrapped it up real nice too! It was meant to be a joke and also the most memorable Valentine's for Jason.. Unfortunately, he expected too much... Sigh..
I felt awful when I got Neko-chan from him coz I gave him a kiddos present, but I never expected the word "dissapointed" to come out from his mouth.. He told me that he and his friends got a good laugh, but he's dissapointed I didn't get him a better present or something liddat.. I wonder what he had in mind...
I was pretty hurt coz he couldn't understand the reason for me getting him such a present, but it was really my fault for giving him false hope.. I mean, he's not my bf, for crying out loud! We're like brother and sister so I really, really didn't think of buying him anything remotely valentine-ish!
Anyways, I promised him I'd make up to him on his 22nd birthday which is coming very soon.. and I already have in mind what I'd like to get him.. I should ask him to open up in front of his friends again.. This time not for him to get laughed at, but for them to have the "whoa, you are like the luckies bugger in the world!" kinda expression..
Still, I'm really sorry coz I made him feel dissapointed.. That was really the last thing I would have expected him to feel.. I would've looked at it and laughed everytime I see it, but not everyone is like me.. I guess I should stop putting myself into other people's shoes coz not all shoes can fit my feet...
I'm really sorry, J.. Take this as an early April Fool's joke.. I'll get you a real present for both Valentine's and your Birthday next month! :) |

5,000-Year-Old Skeletons Locked in Embrace Reuters
ROME (Feb. 6) - Call it the eternal embrace. Archaeologists in Italy have discovered a couple buried 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, hugging each other. "It's an extraordinary case," said Elena Menotti, who led the team on their dig near the northern city of Mantova.
"There has not been a double burial found in the Neolithic period, much less two people hugging -- and they really are hugging."
Menotti said she believed the two, almost certainly a man and a woman although that needs to be confirmed, died young because their teeth were mostly intact and not worn down.
"I must say that when we discovered it, we all became very excited. I've been doing this job for 25 years. I've done digs at Pompeii, all the famous sites," she told Reuters.
"But I've never been so moved because this is the discovery of something special."
A laboratory will now try to determine the couple's age at the time of death and how long they had been buried.

Blood Diamond |
Monday, February 05, 2007 |
Went to Cineleisure with Chia Ling and my "New Best Friend", Ernest, to watch Blood Diamond.. Awesome show! Tells the story of diamond smuggling in Sierra Leone and of the civil war between the African government in the 1900's and the RUF (Revolutionary United Front -- a rebel group supported for a time by the corrupt government of Liberia; www.imdb.com).
Leonardo DiCaprio acted his part (Danny Archer) awfully well! The way he changed his slang and all.. WOW.. He was like "Are you craze?" (are you crazy) in African slang and was like "ya, ya" and it was all so cool! And he looked ruggedly handsome with his sparse moustache and goatee!
And Alan, you are sooo right.. This movie truly is heart-moving and soul-touching.. I can totally understand why you wanted to cry... Hehe!
I rate it 4.75/5 stars and highly recommend that you guys go watch it if you haven't watched it yet! I myself wouldn't mind watching it a second time.. Hehe!Labels: Movies |

February 14th |
Sunday, February 04, 2007 |
There you are, walking solo, in a big shopping complex, surrounded by hundreds of lovey-dovey couples who are oblivious to anything or anyone around them, encased in their own world of hearts, cupids and cherubs..
Yes, it's that time of the year again... The one time in the year where single people wish they'd stayed at home to watch soap operas on tv and stuff their mouths with chocolates or anything that goes straight to the waist!
VALENTINE'S DAY! Sure, valentine's can be celebrated with your family or friends, but it wouldn't be as magical as it would seem if celebrated with that special someone.. There will always be something missing and there will be a void of emptiness, a cave of loneliness within your heart and soul..
I've been through several relationships.. But none of which lasted till the next Valentine's Day.. Sometimes I'd hope that someone special would send me a gift, flowers, or take me out to a romantic candlelight dinner for two.. Should I have a secret admirer, I'd really like him to just be honest with his feelings on this one special day of love!
I may not "see" him at any normal time coz I could be blinded by my feelings for another, so it'll really be great if he could have the courage to be the one I truly "see" on Valentine's Day... For all he knows, he may be the one I've been waiting for all this time...
So guys, be MEN! Seek out those you admire, like or even love this February 14th.. Stop stalking her from behind your curtains, instead take a bold step and knock at her door with a bouquet of red roses in your hands.. You may get the result you have dreamed of all this time!
And to you bold girls out there (I'm definately not one of them), go get your man! Tell him you like him, but don't present him with a bunch of flowers.. That will be just weird! Haha! If he rejects you (this applies to the guys as well), then maybe he isn't the right one for you.. OR.. he's just plain blind! Lots more fish in the sea that's waiting for the line you are going to throw at them!
So GUYS (I'm stressing on the male species coz most of us females prefer to be the one who stays low profile and wait for a miracle to occur coz we lack the courage guys usually have), don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers! You really wouldn't want to wonder "what could've been" if you had just taken ONE bold step.. No one knows what the future holds, so why hold back?
Good luck, all you singles out there! May the magic of this Valentine's Day work on me and on you too! |

Chocolate Sin® |
Saturday, February 03, 2007 |
Ingredients? - 1 bar (200 gm) Cadbury® Milk Chocolate
- 1 box (12 - 14 gm) Sun-Maid® Natural California Raisins (or any other brands -- I used this brand coz they sell them in small boxes and thus the amount stated and you can put more if you want to.. or less...)
- Sufficient amounts of Johnny Walker® Black Label (2 parts) + Paul Masson® Rose Wine (1 part) -- OR you can use Rum (like I originally intended to.. but I was outta that)
- 5 cc Syringe and 1 cc Syringe
- Ice cube mold
How to do it? (Terms used may not be cooking jargon) - Cut/shred the bar of chocolate then melt (do not use direct fire -- put into a bowl greased with butter and heat it like you'd do with "pau").. Stir every once in a while
- While waiting for the chocolate to melt, use 1 cc syringe to "inject" Johnny Walker and Paul Masson into each and every raisin.. or just "soak" the raisins if you are too lazy!
- After "injected", let the raisins soak in the excess alcohol mixture in the fridge (cover bowl or whatever you use with tin foil)
- Grease mold with butter
- After chocolate has melted, pour into mold -- half full first
- "Inject" the melted chocolate with a little of the alcohol mixture using the 5 cc syringe
- Put a few raisins into each of the half filled mold
- Fill melted chocolate into molds until full
- Put to cool in fridge
What do you get?
8 pieces (or more -- depending on the size of your mold) of SINFUL CHOCOLATES!!
Anyone want a piece? Hehe! -Trademark "Chocolate Sin" Registered under Jojo's Chocolate Factory®- Labels: Gourmet |

2007 for the Ox |
|
2007 will be very difficult for the Ox. The stars of the year are not in harmony with your chart and will bring serious afflictions in the form of mishaps, accidents, and major obstacles, as well as misfortunes of every kind.
You will not know when bad luck may strike, so it is important that you take the necessary steps to control the unlucky stars first and enhance for good luck second. There is some good luck in your chart. However, because the energies are not in balance, you may see opportunities coming into your life yet fail to actualize your luck. The main affliction of the year is of earth energy, so you need to wear plenty of metal jewelry such as the Gold Mantra Ring , or the Chundi Medallion in order to neutralize the bad earth energy. Illness is another affliction that will affect you, thus you should hang the Whirling Wu Luo in the center of your home or alternatively you may display 2 pieces of the 5-element Pagoda filled with earth to control the illness-bringing energies. To enhance for wealth luck, wear the 8 Eyes Dzi for luck from the 8 directions and display the 3 Emperor’s Luck Figurines in the West corner of your living room to bring powerful mentors into your life. Transform any residual bad energy into good energy by placing the Luck Transforming Windmill beside your bed, and make sure you spin the fan clockwise 3 times each day.
You should also protect your home by placing a pair of Fu Dogs Seated Beside The Mountain such that it faces the main entrance to your home.

TGIF?? |

YEAH RIGHT!!
This has got to be the worst Friday of my life!!!!!
My squash playing sucked, and my lecturer made my day a living hell just because I was late to class by FIFTEEN BLUDDY MINUTES!!!
Not like I purposely came late!! He wouldn't even listen to reasoning!!!!
AND to make things worse, I kinda got my friend into trouble with that lecturer too..
GAWD!! This day has really been a living nightmare!!!
Thank God I'm back home! I think I would've gone CRAZY if I stayed another weekend in KL!!!
And Thank God I'm suppose to handup portfolio writing in week 9! I really couldn't finish doing both portfolios in time to be handed up today! But I've slacked.. Used to be able to do pf awfully fast...
WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME???!!!
-------------------------------------------
Yesterday's Event
Went to Seremban with Ernest and Sabena yesterday to check out their new place.. Brought my lappie along to do my portfolio.. Double story unfurnished middle lot terrace for RM450 rental is a hell of a pretty good deal! And it's in "uptown" Seremban, so the neighbourhood is rather nice.
Before coming back to KL, (Sabena went back with her parents a few hours before that) Ernest tried to find the short-cut to Seremban hospital but got lost instead and had to turn back.. Anyways, while we were on our way to find the short-cut, Ernest took a sharp turn when he saw a really big pothole, only to find a really big hump right in front! And he was speeding lol! And later after turning back, he again saw a really big hump a lil too late and he stepped so hard on the break, there was smoke coming out! LOL!
Ernie the "Drunken Driver".. Lol! Sabena, you should've been there! Would've gotten a big laugh outta the whole thing! |

Night market a.k.a PASAR MALAM with Ernest TWO nights in a row!!! Consecutive night market visits is no joke k!! Not to mention the notorious KL traffic jam!! Tonight we went to the longest pasar malam in KL; the Taman Connaught Pasar Malam.. Woon Lee came along with us tonight.. my first time hanging out with her..
It was crazy crowded there! Ernest promised we wouldn't pass by the "chao tau fu" stall tonight. But just in case, I took extra precaution by covering my head with a cap I borrowed from Daniel. Just washed my hair.. Didn't want it to get all smelly-fied again! But true enough, we didn't pass by the stall.. We did, however, get a whiff of the smell while walking towards the pasar malam coz someone was happily eating it!
Bought some food then went to some hawker centre to sit and eat our purchases. Ordered "ling chi kang" and that was one weird "ling chi kang"! They actually put GINGER into the drink! That was the first time I tasted "ling chi kang" with ginger! *Yuck* Soooo NOT a fan of ginger!
Super tired now.. Just reach my apartment, currently sprawled out on my bed with my lappie right in front of me.. Can't think of anything else to write now.. So ciaoz..
------------------------------------------------ P/S: Thanks Ernest for lending me your convo mag and Borat! Will see you tomorrow afternoon :)Labels: Outings |
