Segamat Food~!

Lak Bi (Six Smells) Drink (Some were with milk).. The girls were surprised when they found macaroni in the drink XD

The nasi lemak was cooked by a friend, but the sambal and sotong were from Segamat Train Station

Kon Lon Mee.. Too bad the wind was crazy that afternoon and blew stones into our food so we didn't get to eat it.. But I brought them there again the next day before they went back to KL anyways! Only May didn't get to eat it..

Deep fried kuey teow with chap (hor fun?), fried mihunke, and some other fried stuff

BBQ chicken (two rounds somemore even though we ate a lot for dinner), ikan bakar and sotong at Kah Lok (Freddie's fave makan place)

Good Segamat food doesn't end there k! Ask anyone who's been to Segamat! And if anyone wants to come, I'd be glad to bring you guys around.. I'm just too free!! Haha! Feeling hungry now.. Guess it's time to eat... AGAIN! *Grins*

Went to Urbanscapes on the 28th of June with Chia Ling, Pek Chin, Pek Chin's cousin and Sek Kuan.. Got lost trying to find our way there.. Almost ended up at IPOH!

Anyways, paid RM35 entrance tickets but didn't get to see much inside the KLPAC building coz it was too damn crowded!! I didn't get to see Mia Palencia!! *Cries*

Went outside the KLPAC building after a while to get to the Marketplace where bloggers and DJ's and local designers were selling their stuff.. It was packed with people and I think 70% of the people there were shouting "ADRIAN!!".. No idea why.. Was tempted to shout with them for the heck of it! *Grins*

It was friggin' HOT outside... and then it started RAINING!! *Grumbles* So we didn't buy anything from the marketplace coz of the crazy weather except a small cupcake which I purchased for RM3.90 coz it looked too damn cute!!! (The next day, Chia Ling's cousins who went as well showed us the clothes they bought from Urbanscapes.. JEALOUS!!!)

Also managed to celebrate Suk Hui's 23rd birthday! Ate at Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant at Kota Damansara because that was where RAIN ate the last time he came to Malaysia.. LOLS!

I've been on national TV before for national story telling competition.. However, I didn't manage to get to the semi's
When I was 14, I had my first stage-fright attack.. Ran down the stage in the midst of my elocution competition and that made the gossip headlines for the next few months
I was the only one in my whole class to get a B in Prinsip Akaun for SPM.. "How you doin'?"
I was named the most popular girl in college only to be hated by a couple of my college mates.. Never been hated in my life!
I had girls going after me when I was younger coz I had a boy's haircut and dressed like one too!

23, 24, 25

This is a very long overdue post.. It's about my birthday celebration on the 21st of May 2008~! I'm gonna K.I.S.S this time around.. First lemme explain why my title is "23, 24, 25".. Basically this birthday celebration was not for me alone, but also for May who shares the same birthdate as me and is older by 2 years, and Magdalene's belated birthday. She's older by a year. Hence, the title: my age, Mag's age and May's age..

We went to Klang to celebrate after my not-so-gruesome job interview.. Speaking of which, I was there before 7AM (coz of limited parking spaces which are filled up by 7AM) when the interview session started at 8AM, and waited till 1.30PM coz the list of those to be interviewed followed birthdays so obviously I was one of the last on the list coz most of my classmates are a year older..

So anyways, we went to three different places in Klang to celebrate our birthdays whereby the last place we went to was a cafe and there we had our piece of cake.. And I do mean PIECE.. 7 of us share one PIECE of chocolate cake lols!

First place: Chinese Restaurant for seafood among other dishes

Second place: Fried rojak stuff and ABC (If I'm gonna be technical however, the second stop was actually Cindy's house to watch American Idol Finale!!)

Final Place: Some Halo Cafe like place.. We were serenaded to by the performers lols!

And some of the funny surprises and presents I got from my crazy budak-budak! Don't ask lols.. Long story XD~!

Four Years

~Time Flies~

This candid shot of Jen adjusting my hood for me while we were lining outside the convocation hall brought back memories of not so long ago when I first met my "chi muis" and slowly grew with them mentally, emotionally and spiritually as we sailed through our four years of university together.. They, and a few of my other girlfriends, have really taken care of me and have been there for me at times when I needed someone the most!

To think, I've made such wonderful friends, only to lose them four years later.. Well, maybe not lose.. But we're definately going our seperate ways determined by just one letter.. I can only hope that we will somehow, keep-in-touch, and that our plans of meeting up and travelling together once every year after we start work would be a reality and not just mere words of mouth!

I will definately miss these girls of mine.. and of course, a handful of my classmates whom I've grown to love as well. As much as I hate to admit it, BPharm might have been the best decision I've made in my life!

Thanks for making my life a lil more meaningful!

I Am Alive

I was reading my old posts back from when I first started blogging with this URL back in November 2005. I was amazed to see how much I had transformed, how much I had grown, how much I had changed these past few years. Even my style of writing has matured in ways I had not known! Of course, this means I use fewer analogies and flowery sentences to convey my messages across..

I'm amazed at how much laughter I've shared with my closest and dearest friends, and even more so with the sea of tears I've cried because of broken dreams, hopes, and mostly of a broken heart. I had lost so much, yet gained much more over the past few years! And thinking back, I don't think I would have gotten this far if it weren't for the endless support and constant motivation from my very supportive and loving family, and my wonderful and understanding group of friends whom I share a strong bond with..

I wouldn't say I had that good a start this 2008 and I wouldn't say this half a year had been smooth sailing for me, but I've a lot to be grateful for because I have people I can turn to, and memories as my lifelong companion.. And these memories I refresh as I click through the archives of my life written in my blog - the good ones that make life so much more meaningful, the bad ones that I thank helped make me a stronger individual!

In exactly 7 days from now, I will step into yet another year of my existence here on earth. And I thank God for having guide me through my 23 years of life, and my loved ones for always being there to cushion my every fall. It's been a wonderful though confusingly rough journey and I'm proud to say I've made it so far and there's no stopping me from going further just yet!

I'm glad I'm alive!

Noise, Dust, and HANOI - Part IV (End)

Day 4 - Hanoi

That was the last day we spent in Hanoi city. The next morning we flew off pretty early in the morning.. To think, just being at the airport, waiting to in line at the immigration counter and waiting to board the plane was eventful in Hanoi.. Well, I'll talk about that later..

Bright and early on Day 4, we followed a City Tour conducted by the same company as that of our Ha Long bay cruise.. It was ok at first, visiting various temples and pagodas.. then it became disturbing when we visited Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, where his dead body is preserved in probably wax.. and later it became boring with our visit to a pottery factory.. Snoozesville!!

The first Buddhist temple/pagoda we visited.. There were statues of Buddha of the past, the present and the future..

The Temple of Literature.. Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism all in one temple..

The tour guide said a Chinese movie was filmed here.. Anyone know which film? None of us could figure it out! Crouching tiger, hidden dragon perhaps??

Confucious' teachings carved into stone tablets carried by stone turtles..

Statue of the great man himself! My first time seeing Confucious' statue too!

Golden Sword Lake Temple.. Do you see the preserved turtle in the left bottom picture? The water puppet show tells of the story of the turtle and a king who owned the Golden Sword.. It is believed that the turtle took the sword from the king and brought it down into the lake and thus the lake was called Ho Kiem (Golden Sword) lake and the temple by the lake is the Golden Sword Lake Temple!

Ho Chi Minh's final resting place.. There were guards all around the mausoleum asking us to keep quiet as we walked into the "grave".. I was kinda shocked when I saw Ho Chi Minh's dead, preserved (I told you they like preserving stuff!!) body and four guards were guarding that body like someone would steal it if they had the chance.. Interesting, but freaky! They even had a museum built just to store his documents and stuff.. Imagine having a museum that featured just YOU!

And see the middle picture right at the bottom? That shrine is supported by just one pole. Legend has it, a king wanted a son so he prayed hard to a Diety and one night he dreamt of that one poled shrine and soon after, he had a son.. So he built that as a sign of gratitute to the Diety.

Pottery factory - total waste of time!! And it took us quite a while to get there too coz it's on the outskirts of Hanoi..

The only interesting sight we saw at the pottery place.. BTW, just like Hanoi city and it's division of goods sold at designated streets, this place sold nothing but pottery!!

Cruelty to animals!! Poor bull.. *Tears*

After our so-called city tour ended, we were sent back to our hotel. From there, we walked around Hanoi to get our long awaited shopping spree done! Also, to find more food! *Grins* We bought a whole lot of stuff ranging from silk to handmade jewellery for ourselves, our families, and our closest friends! Everything was just CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!!!

It was terribly cold that day.. Like being at Genting at 3am in the morning!! So glad we managed to experience Hanoi's funny summer/winter weather~!! BTW, when we wore sweaters, Cindy didn't.. And when she did, we didn't! LOL! Her homeostatic balance a bit off already I think *grins*

We came across this urm.. I dunno what to call it coz it's not even a roadside stall as you can see.. It was actually a back-alley.. And decided to eat whatever the locals were eating.. The picture below shows what we ate at that urm.. place..

Wonderful and cheap porridge with "yu char ke"!! And when I mean cheap, I mean the locals pay VND 3000 (RM 0.60) and we (though cheated) paid twice the amount which is RM 1.20!! For a friggin' bowl of porridge with "yu char ke"!! CHEAP SIAL~!!!

Yucky, longkang water tasting, and CRAZY expensive chicken soup noodles!! Anthing above VND 5000 (RM 1) is considered expensive there!

We bought a whole lot of stuff from this shop coz the lil boy could speak perfect English (finally!!) and he was just TOO CUTE!!! Btw, would you believe his sister (the girl in green t-shirt) is SIXTEEN???

Went to this cafe to try Vietnam coffee and eat some corn we bought earlier.. OMG, the corn was sooo sweet and tasty!! And the best thing about it was.. there was NO added whatsoever!! No salt, no butter, NOTHING!! BTW, I tried their cocoa milk.. My advice to anyone who's going there, DON'T order cocoa milk!! Tasted like PERFUME!! *Gak!* (But although it tasted horrible and was stinging to the throat, it was kinda addictive! Boggles the mind!)

Hanoi beer.. Tasted just ok.. Nothing to shout about.. We played "Bullshit" again and drinking a sip of that was the punishment.. Magdalene just drank it, punishment or not! LOLS!

Hanoi Vodka.. Tasted more like surgical spirit cum thinner than anything else! The vodka in Malaysia tastes so much better!

And here is our final picture in the hotel we stayed at, taken with the manager, Ms. Thien, who was of great help to us (plus, she was the one who arranged our "upgrade"!!) Thanks loads, Ms. Thien!!

Now, about the eventful stuff that happened at the airport.. while we were lining up at the immigration counter, this one Vietnamese woman just came charging up in front and cutting the line!! She literally pushed everyone to get in front, only to be told to go behind and line up by the customs officer! LOLS! Then, she tried inching her way through to the front a lil while later.. So what we did was this; we stood side-by-side, me on the left, and a friend on the right.. I was blocking the woman.. So my friends kept going and going from the right while I blocked her from cutting queue! It was quite "kiasu" and bitchy of us but who can stand such a character??

Then later while queing up to board the plane, a whole bunch of Vietnamese workers (probably housekeepers) went out of their line to try to cut in front, pushing their way through! Then they were told to go behind by the airport staff.. So instead of going to the end of the line, they tried to nudge their way back into our line and since we were already pissed off by the woman earlier, we refused to let them cut in and closed whatever gap there was between us! Gosh!

But on the whole, I have to admit, I did enjoy Vietnam, not because I liked the place coz I didn't! But because of the company I went with.. And that made the trip worthwhile~! (Plus, we spent less than RM 1000 and that included the air fare, accomodation, and transportation!!) END!

3rd Night - Hanoi

When we got back to the Guesthouse, we were shocked to learn that due to some mistake on their side or something like that, there was no more room for us to stay and that they had moved us to another place down the street.. We were pretty upset when they told us that coz we had gotten to like the Guesthouse and when we saw how small the doorway to the new place was, we were abhorred! Seriously, it was just one small, dinky doorway whereby only one person could enter at a time!

Until we went inside.... Oh my gosh, the place was HUGE!! And they had more computers than the previous place! Then we got to know that they had shifted us from a Guesthouse where backpackers stay, to a TWO-STAR HOTEL for those who vacation without getting mud on their feet! And trust me, in Hanoi, a two-star hotel is like staying at Hilton in KL!! Well, maybe that's exaggerating it a lil.. but what I'm trying to say is that it's really good for Hanoi standards!

Finally, a PROPER bathroom! LOLS!

Because the eel noodle was so good, the 6 of us, together with Ha and Aaron, decided to eat dinner there again. At least this time, with the Australian Vietnamese couple, we didn't have any communication problems!

Vietnamese girls are generally really pretty.. Like this one.. BTW, they love taking photos as well and they seemed to be quite amazed by digital cameras coz they kept looking over our shoulders to see our cameras... Maybe it's a luxury to own one in such a poor country.. Speaking of poor country, I forgot to mention that my first impression of Vietnam was that they haven't really recovered from the war... It's that bad!

Oh, speaking of communication problems, I never did mention about how we converse with Vietnamese people when it came to purchasing stuff/food did I?

Well, on a general note, Vietnamese people speak little to no English. And if they weren't Vietnam Chinese, they wouldn't know how to speak Chinese either.. So when wanted to purchase stuff from them, we'd converse using a CALCULATOR! At least they knew how to shake their heads when they disagreed with the price we were asking for and nod when they agreed.

And when it came to food, we just looked around to see what others were eating, and asked for the same thing by pointing and then showing how many of that we wanted using our fingers.. Of course, that didn't always get us what we wanted.. Our mistake, we should have brought a Viet phrasebook!

While walking to a preserved fruits stall Ha and Aaron had recommended, I managed to see Vietnam's infamous SNAKE WINE! A cure for about everything, so they say.. And EVERYTHING includes erectile dysfunction! Who needs Viagra anymore? LOLS!

Preserved fruits stall.. Everything in Hanoi seems to be preserved.. You'll see what I mean later.. But I gotta admit, for a person who doesn't enjoy preserved fruits, I kinda liked the taste!

A church (or was it a cathedral) we passed by during our walk to yet another fruit stall.. When I showed this picture to my cousin, she said it was the same church from Takeshi Kineshiro's Anna Magdalena~! BTW, do you spot anything urm.. "paranormal" in the picture?

At a fruit juice stall... Something like the mixed fruit stall we went to on our first night.. Only this one had blended strawberry with passion fruit juice and avocado juice.. Didn't really like the drinks here.. And you should have seen the amount of sugar they put in!! I kept wondering if diabetes is prevalent in Vietnam!

After we had enough of walking around and being all full of mud and having bruises here and there (me at least), we went back to the hotel and on our way back, lo and behold, I found MILO!!! I was ecstatic, mind you, coz I haven't had milo in days!! But my happiness was short-lived when I took ONE SIP of their so-called milo!! It was too sweet, too milky, and just... YUCKY!!! From there on hence, I said I wouldn't wanna come back to Hanoi again!! LOLS!

NOBODY messes around with MY milo!! Roar~!! Note to self: Bring milo 3-in-1 next time I go overseas! LOLS!

And as you can see in the picture above, Cathy was in my room.. Yeah, the three girls came over to our room later that night and the six of us played the card game "Bullshit" or "Bluff".. Had totally forgotten about that game until Ha and Aaron reintroduced it to us on the junk.. I think I posted a picture or two of us playing cards on deck in my previous post..

It was a really fun game night coz Cathy was really innocent, Mag kept making mistakes when she was bluffing, and coz Cindy didn't know how to lie when she didn't have cards, she just flipped open the card the previous person threw down.. LOLS! Went to sleep pretty late that night.. And in the morning, we followed a pretty boring city tour.. Will blog about that soon..

P/S: Jennifer can really sleep!! I tried waking her up by talking really loudly into her ear but she didn't even wink! *Faint*

Day 2 & 3 - Ha Long Bay

Ha Long bay, which is a UNESCO heritage site, is about 4 hours away from Hanoi city and is situated at Ha Long province. We followed a tour and went on a 2 day 1 night cruise aboard a Chinese junk! We met a couple of great people there; an Australian Vietnamese couple, Ha and Aaron, and a white from OZ as well, Eric.

P/S: Vietnamese graveyards are in the middle of the paddy fields.. So when you see paddy fields, there's a high chance you'd see a cemetery out of nowhere!

Can you see the tortoise formation in the picture on the bottom most left hand side? It is believed that if you touch the head, you'd have long life or your wishes would come true.. I know my wish did~! And in the last pic, can you make out the Goddess of Mercy formation?

Would you believe this cave is male? And he definately needs no viagra? And look properly.. Can you see where it's aiming at? Here's a hint.. There are THREE holes on the ceiling of the cave... *Grins*

Noise, Dust, and HANOI - Part I

Day 1 - Hanoi

Have you ever seen the sunrise from atop the clouds? The array of colours and burst of sunlight was just... breathtaking!

Beautiful! And this is just a picture! The real thing was.. wow!

We reached Hanoi at about 10AM local time and hence, our 5-day journey began~! The first culture shock we got when we reached was the fact that Vietnamese drive on the right side of the road! Well, that culture shock didn't last long coz it was replaced at once by how they drive on the roads! In three simple words; DANGEROUS, RECKLESS, LAWLESS!

Millions of motorcyclist in Hanoi itself! And seriously, nobody knew how to keep to their own lanes nor followed the traffic rules e.g. everyone still moves although the light is red so traffic would be coming from all four sides!

The next culture shock we got was how narrow and small yet tall their houses were.. We later got to know that it costs USD 40,000 per square foot in Hanoi and that's why people build their houses that way!

Their stairways were narrow as well.. and windy too! BTW, notice that the motorcyclist is using a face mask? It's not only because of exhaust, but also because Hanoi is a really dusty (and dirty) place!

It might be dangerous for Vietnamese to speak Viet when around Chinese people.. Can you see why? *Grins*

We checked in to Hanoi Guesthouse and were happily greeted by the manager Ms. Thien and another guy in charge, Ha. After asking them for a map of Hanoi, we walked blindly towards Ho Kiem lake where the famous water puppet theater was situated. From there, a really friendly Vietnamese woman told us where we could eat good food.. and she was right!

Three people to one small room.. BTW, the toilet was so small, it was almost impossible to move around while showering! We literally had to stand straight while taking a bath!

First place we went for food! Most of the food stalls in Hanoi are like that and that's considered pretty good! Most food stalls aren't stalls at all! Well, you'll see what I mean later..

BBQ non-halal meat with Vietnam rice.. Yummy~!! They also had spring rolls.. Really good!

After lunch, we went around to look for more food! Hey, new place means new food! Wasted no time there! Walking around blindly some more, we came across a couple of interesting sights which you would definately miss if you weren't on foot!

The next food thing we tried.. Some kinda glutinous rice with lotus seed paste and meat or something like that.. Seriously, we were never really sure of what we were putting into our mouths! LOLS!

Lo and behold! An ATM machine out of nowhere! Haha! BTW, we became instant millionaires in Vietnam.. That's how small their currency is! And any shops that sold anything above RM10 would have a security guard! Seriously, we even saw one in Gloria Jean's!!

Some part of Hanoi.. Check out the electric/telephone wires! It's like that all around Hanoi city! And that one is considered okay and neat!

Every row of shops specialise in one thing. For instance, if you wanna get cheap bras, then you go to the row of shops on your left.. If you wanna get cheap silk, you go to the row of shops on your right.. All the shops sell the same stuff but the stuff differs from one row to another..

When we were worn out from walking so much (plus our tiring 3 hour flight), we went back to the guesthouse to rest and recuperate before going out later in the evening for dinner and for our water puppet show! We then went to the night market and later headed back to our guesthouse to rest before our early departure to Ha Long bay early the next morning~!!

Through thorough online research, Cindy found this stall! Yay, Cindy!

Walking somemore, we found this stall selling fruits with coconut milk! What caught our eyes was the number of people eating there!

You see, they use taller stools as tables, and shorter ones as chairs.. I didn't know this.. So I sat on a table until the guy comes and tells me that it was a table and not a chair.. LOLS!

Feeling kinda bored right now. Cousins and friends have gone to work so I'm at home doing nothing. Went shopping yesterday at Orchard Road. And I really, really SHOPPED!! In just one night alone, I managed to spend SGD 550!! Feel free to convert to Malaysian Ringgit.. lols!

Bought a new watch, a bottle of perfume, and a bloody lot of cosmetics! Seriously, cosmetics should be spelt as COSTmetics! The perks and disadvantages of being female lols.. Still have more shopping to do! Wee~!!

Holidays~Part II: Niah & Miri Petroleum Museum

Tek Jee quoted something that went like this: "If you don't visit Niah, you haven't seen Miri!"

Niah - can you spot the cave?

And while trekking through the Niah forest reserve to get to Great Cave, he thought me how to enjoy the sceneries and observe nature instead of being too paranoid I'd fall down since it just rained and the trails were wet and slippery.. (Yes, I was looking at my feet the first 15 - 20 minutes! Think of how much I must have missed!)

So anyways, once I was sure I wouldn't fall flat on my face, I started to take pictures... Here are some of the many pics I started taking after I felt safe on my own two feet lols!

The next and last day of my stay in Miri, Tek Jee's mum brought me to Petroleum Museum. I loved the scenery atop the hill where the museum is situated! Breathtaking!

All-in-all, I had a marvelous time in Miri/Brunei! Thank you so very much Tek Jee and family! Thanks for making me feel at home and like one of the family! Looking forward to visiting Miri again in the near future! *Smiles*

Spent two days and one night at Brunei with Tek Jee and Ernest upon touching down at Miri airport from KL.. Anyways, to make my story sweet, short and simple, just scroll over the pictures in the slide show to view my comments k? =)

Just to add... Bruneians are generally honest people! And whenever they converse in English, unlike we Malaysians, they'd compose their every sentence in perfect, grammatically correct English! Plus, drivers there, they stop for pedestrians! So much so, pedestrians need not look left and right UNLIKE in our country whereby even if you look left and right, there's no guarantee you won't get knocked down! LOLS!

And oh, besides dirt cheap luxury cars as I mentioned in one of the pictures in the slideshow (and by dirt cheap I mean a BMW that costs RM500K here, costs RM100K there!!!), their petrol is subsidised so much, they pay B$ 0.53/litre!!! (Even after conversion, it's still cheaper!!) But too bad they can only sell a max of B$10/day to Malaysians and only certain allocated petrol kiosk are allowed to sell their petrol to us.. Sigh..

All-in-all, I had great fun!! Yay!!!

TJ, Ernest and my first time playing the game.. Didn't know what to expect.. and when we heard that it was RM60 for 200 bullets.. *DUSHHHH*.. Almost died on the spot!!

A total of 12 of us went.. The other 9 were Sem 9 going on Sem 10 medical students.. It was sorta their farewell gathering thingy before they go to Batu Pahat..

But I can say one thing... For VANITY'S sake... This will be my first and last paintball session ever!! Though I did enjoy the adrenaline rush! XD

I've nothing to celebrate just yet.. I've still a couple of months to go before I can celebrate anything. However, my three Seremban housemates had something to celebrate -- passing Semester 7! Congrats Sabena, Tek Jee and Ernest! Although it had nothing to do with me, I joined in their celebration and shared their joys..

We went to Pedas Hot Spring and Wet World at around 6.00pm, only to find out that the hot springs was opened at 6.30pm (RM4), while the Wet World was closing at 6.45pm (RM10). So we decided to take a drive around while waiting for time to past..

Ernest wanted me to sit there instead of TJ coz then it would look funny that a girl's heavier than him and can supposedly throw him off the see-saw! Wrong type of see-saw buddy! (-_-")

An even bigger kid at heart.. Trying to make a 360.. *faint*.. His comb fell out from his pocket at that moment LOL!

Well, time passes awfully fast as you all know.. So our "second childhood" time was short-lived as it was past 6.30pm and our main agenda was hot springs.. And off we went.. At that time, my car's airconditioning system went bust so we had like a pre-preparation for the heat at the hot-springs.. Or so we thought.....

It's not like I've never been to some hot spring before.. I have... In Sabah, on the mountains, there's this place called "Poring Hot Springs".. The water there is whoaaaa... And with the crazy cold mountain air, it's like Heaven!! BUT... Over in Pedas or any other flat land in Malaysia... at about 6.45pm in a drought... it is bloody hot!! And when you're feeling HOT, and submerge your body into prolly 50 - 60 degrees of HOT water...

Noooo.. it wasn't cold... He was just psyching himself out...

.. and it took me a while to get in...

So it was like REALLY REALLY HOT!!!!! (Jee said Ernest's "eggs" were being cooked LOL)

The heat really wore us out!

And made our skins totally ERYTHEMATOUS*!!! (*Redness of the skin)

Minerals in the hot spring.. I think we got an overdose of a couple of 'em coz later we all went CRAZY!! Could be interaction with the food we ate later too...

Totally loving the cold water~!!

Sab just dipped her feet in.. but she still went as nuts as the rest of us later *grins*

LOLS.. nope, they aren't what you might be thinking the are.. They were trying to "act" a scene from the Bible about Jesus saving Peter -- Check out Ernest's blog to know more..

After the hot springs, we decided to eat Steamboat BBQ at SERDANG! So off we went in my crazy hot car (spoilt aircond remember?) And we we're still overheated from the hot springs.. Plus when we wound down the windows, all kinds of smells entered the car.. very FOUL smells, mind you! So you can imagine how much we suffered!! LOLS! So we decided to go back home to change cars first..

TJ drove his car to Serdang.. The buffet steamboat BBQ place was pretty deep in... But it was soooo crowded! And the spread was pretty impressive~!

Some of the raw food we took INITIALLY! No idea how many times we went back to the buffet table! Took mostly expensive food.. (RM21.80++ per person).. Ultimate kiasu-ism!

Reached Seremban at about 2AM.. Crazy tired but had a really, really, really great time!! I'm gonna miss my Seremban housemates very, very much... (I'm going back to KL, the boys are going to India, Sab will be having classes in Seremban).. I'm really glad I got to spend precious time with them.. Though now I've got more work piling up.. Drat! *ROAR*

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!!!

It has been a great festive season for me.. full of laughter and joy! Of course, there were minor frictions here and there but well, that's family!

My house @ Night.. Only during CNY..

My cousin from my maternal side of the family (Rachele) came down to celebrate CNY with us on the 2nd of Feb.. My third aunt came back from KL on the 5th of Feb, the day before New Year.. That night, we (my parents, my aunt, and I) went NIGHT marketing at Giant Supermarket, the wet market at Kampung Abdullah, and some cold-storage shop we've never been to.. According to my parents, these NIGHT wet markets which lasts all through the night up to the next morning, is only held once a year, which is on the day before CNY..

The next day (New Year's Eve), we did last minute sweeping and moping and cleaning up the place because we using a broom on New Year's day brings bad monetary luck (I think).. And only once a year would you see me doing this...

My cousin, Rachele, said this is so rare, it's like striking 4D number and that's why she took my picture while I was busy doing housework! LOL!

We had prayers whereby we offered food to the Dieties and also to the Ancestors.. Having and following Chinese customs makes life a whole lot more interesting, doesn't it? =) The slide show below is a slide show of some random pictures I took just to show how Chinese New Year-ish my place is lols~! My parents are gung-ho about CNY!

Rufina arrived sometime in the afternoon that same day.. We we're lying down next to each other facing the computer and chatting on MSN to each other and to Pammie when my bro came in and said "wow, you guys really look alike!" and took our pic..

At midnight, we were to change into our new clothes and pray to "Ti Kong" and "Chai Sen Ye" outside the house.. The display of fireworks all around my neighbourhood was simply breathtaking~! Loud sounds of firecrackers were also heard from all directions.. We didn't have those long 5 - 15 feet Chinese firecrackers this year.. Just some loud sounding single firecracker thingy which you light and quickly throw away before you blast your fingers off *Touch Wood*..

We didn't do much on New Year's day.. It was pretty quiet since there were only a few of us in the house.. My third aunt's hubby came later in the evening with Amy (the dog), and so did my youngest aunt and her hubby, all from KL.. So didn't take any pics that day..

On the 2nd day however, well, it was quite eventful and I had great fun! For most families, the reunion dinner is usually on the eve of CNY.. but for us, it's always on the 2nd day coz most of my family members come back on the 2nd day of CNY.. And we usually have BBQ or steamboat as our reunion dinner...

meeting, PEAC visited Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar in Seremban to look at
clinical teaching facilities for Pharmacy & Nursing undergraduate
students. I am pleased to inform you that the PEAC members are very
impressed with the students that they met. PEAC members are
particularly pleased to noted that our students are self-confident and
knowledgeable and PEAC remarked that our "students are second to none".

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your individual
devotion and enthusiasm in the training of our next generation of
healthcare professionals. Well done & keep up the good work. Let's make

PEAC: In your feedback forms, most of you said you have no social lives. What can you comment about that?

B104: Well, to be honest, when we first entered BPharm, it was like, we had a life, and suddenly we had none! But as time progressed, we learnt to manage our time and now we can juggle both at the same time..

PEAC: Most of you said that you felt your knowledge was inadequate. Anything to say about that?

B104: Well, there's always room for improvement!

PEAC: How is BPharm compared to other pharmacy courses? Is it any better or is it worse? What's good or bad about it?

B104: We can't really say.. Coz every pharmacy course has its own pros and cons.. The good thing about this course is that we are exposed at a very early stage to the roles of pharmacists and are sent to hospitals and industries and community pharmacies for attachment..

Went to Terminal 2 to celebrate New Year's Day (yeah, we reached just in time to count down lols).. Who knew such a place existed in Seremban??)

Then later, Ernest, TJ, Sab and I went down to Malacca to have lunch and to camwhore a lil... And hey, who said it takes 1 hour to reach Malacca from Seremban??

Well, well.. A brand new year! We made it to 2008 people!! Wheee~~!! Soon to come, posts on how we ushered in the new year and how we would spend today, the 1st of January 2008! Notice I used "HOW" and "WOULD" in my sentence.. That's coz it's currently 2:38AM and I just came home from celebrating New Year's!

(I stole this idea from Ernest coz I had nothing to blog about! Lols!)

2007 wasn't a really good year for me.. I got into accidents, I almost died a few times, I was hurt umpteen times by people around me, I got into arguments because of others, and I did worse than I ever did in my studies! Not to mention a couple of other events which I shouldn't mention.

Trust me, most of the bad things that happened to me weren't minor bumps on the way to a brighter future.. They were trap doors under my feet and ropes around my neck to which tested my perseverance to live with each passing day...

But I did have some good times as well.. Good things did happen despite my bad luck this year.. And honestly, the silver lining was always there because of God, my family and my friends! And I couldn't thank them more for making 2007 livable for me! If it weren't for them.. who knows what I would have been capable of doing?

Anyways, here are a couple of HAPPY occasions or wonderful stuff I did all throughout year 2007! And you know what they say.. A picture paints a thousand words and I think I've crapped enough already! ;)

I make new resolutions every year.. but I never seem to keep to them~! LOLS!

Anyways, here are my resolutions for 2008 AD! (Crossing my fingers that I keep them this time)

To graduate with my classmates in MAY without nary an obstacle! (Wish me luck!) And that means I can't procastinate anymore!! *DUSH*

This is a resolution I make EVERY single year... to lose weight! Haha! I'll be able to follow through with this resolution if only I didn't enjoy food so much!

To be more feminine... so that TJ won't call me "gay" again! *Hmmph*

To be b**chier coz good girls finish last (or so I've noticed) ~roar~

To be a competent and great pharmacist once I start working!! (and also while doing my 9-week attachment)

Went through the toll to get to the hospital that day.. Forgot I took a ticket and didn't use my Touch 'n' Go card.. Went through the TnG lane then suddenly realised I can't go through!! Tried to reverse but the cars behind wouldn't let me.. So the attendant came.. Gave me "the look" when I told her that I forgot I wasn't using TnG.. Opened the gate for me and told me to wait ahead.. Waited and waited for my change but the girl never came.. Burned RM0.40 there!

Celebrated Han Ping's birthday at Secret Recipe in the afternoon after unexpected oral bombings.. Miss Wong and Mr Kievan came along too..

Went to the counter to pay for our meals then Miss Wong passed me RM50 to cover for her food and for Han Ping's.. Mr Kievan on the other hand, said "Thank you, Josephine!" I wonder what made him think I was paying for him.. Good thing the money that Miss Wong gave me was more than enough to cover Mr Kievan's share and more than half of Han Ping's share.. Really nice of her.. Proves that she treats us like friends and not her students~! No offense Mr K.

Ching Mun asked me to join her and a couple of others for carolling at an orphanage in Lukut. Ernie and Sab joined as well.. It was sad that TJ couldn't join us though.. My junior from BJ came as well. So all-in-all, plus 2 lecturers, there were about 12 of us that day..

Wanted to fly my kite with the kids but too bad the weather was bad that day.. TJ was the one who taught me how to fly a kite.. Never had a successful attempt before.. Haha! Would love to go kite flying with him again some other day.. Gonna drag Ernie and Sab along that time! Still, had lotsa fun singing with everyone.. We didn't have any practice but we pulled it off anyways! *Claps*

Drove down to PD later that night at around 10pm.. Wanted to use the trunk road but neither of us knew where the trunk road was.. So Ernest picked a random junction after going round and round the roundabout a couple of (nauseous) times but it turned out to be the wrong road lol! Turned back after 15 minutes or so and then took another junction after turning another couple of rounds at the roundabout.. Sab chose this one.. And it was the correct road! So we were off to PD!

To think earlier that day we went to Lukut which is very near PD and back to Seremban then up to PD again! We have weird impulses every now and then! Anyways, went to the beach but it was really dark.. so we went back to the car after walking a few steps on the beach.. Went for supper after that at some random restaurant.. Overcharged us no doubt! Reach home on a full stomach at about 12.30AM..

Went to TJ's church for Christmas celebration.. Had a mini concert there.. It was pretty nice! Chee Wing was funny! When they sang in English, his voice boomed over the others making it like a one-man show.. but when they sang in Chinese, he suddenly became really soft! LOL! He's an OCBC too! Exchanged presents with random people after that as according to the names we got.. Didn't get mine from anyone tho.. I guess someone forgot to bring a present.. So the church members gave one to me from their reserve.. I didn't really mind though.. I had fun~! Oh btw, TJ bought the presents for us to exchange with others.. and Sab got his name so she gave him back his own present! Funny!

Was driving on the Pedas-Linggi trunk road today.. A really slow lorry was in front of me and blocking the whole road.. Then after a while, the driver suddenly swerved to the left letting me pass... Not one minute after I said "I sure kena if got police" to Su Lyn, a policeman came out of nowhere and stopped my car to give me a ticket! After telling me that it's the holiday season and blah blah and I should be more careful, he let me go.. Went to the police station after that to pay my "saman" but the counter was already closed.. So just enquired about the price I had to pay for cutting at a double line.. RM300!! No discount coz it was "ops sikap!"

P/S: I'm exactly 22 years and 7 months "young" today~! Happy 7 months since my birthday to me! Haha! (A lil psychotic now.. Need atypical antipsychotics, lithium, TCA and SSRI's)

Sorry for the late update.. Have been pretty caught up with dissertation and some other stuff.. So as promised, Imma blog about our lil' Post-Thanksgiving Dinner cum gathering we threw a week ago..

Started off with Tek Jee and I buying the stuff from Tesco.. Made sure the ingredients were fresh, and more importantly, affordable a.k.a cheap! Sin Yee helped out as well. She hung out with us while waiting for Cin Yee's exam to finish so they'd be able to go shopping together.

We came back at about 5.30pm, around the same time as Ernest from KL. We were suppose to make sure everything was all ready before our head chef (Ernest) came home so that he can just start stuffing the chicken and roasting it but well.. we kinda lost track of time.. LOL!

Coz the guests were expected to come at 7.30pm, we were rushing like mad to get everything done! The one-day old french loaf kinda slowed down the process coz it was terribly hard and cutting it wasn't an easy task! Ernest looked like he needed a drill more than anything else!

So anyways, head chef roasted the chicken and made garlic bread, while I helped out with the stuffing and sauce and made punch, and Tek Jee was in charge of the spaggetti~! Lo and behold, we managed to get everything ready, including cleaning the whole damn kitchen, before our guests arrived despite all the nagging and scolding and what not's that went around in the kitchen! Haha!

And guess what... Great Success!! Everything was just perfect! :D

I had this lil' flashback of when I was in Form 3...

Our Science teacher was on leave or something and our SPORTS Science teacher was filling in for her. Well... I'm sure most of you remember that we first learnt about reproduction in form 3... So anyways, we were on the topic of TWINS...

Pn N: Blah blah... Lelaki keluarkan SI-PER-MA, perempuan keluarkan U-VOOM.. blah blah.. Satu si-per-ma dan satu u-voom dapat satu zigot.. bagaimana pula dengan kembar seiras and tak seiras??

Students: *Quiet* (we knew the answer but we couldn't be bothered to answer her question coz we were too busy trying to control from laughing at the way she pronounce "sperma" and "ovum")

Pn N: Macam ni... Kembar seiras terjadi bila DUA si-per-ma bercantum dengam SATU u-voom

Students: *Eyes wide open, mouth agape*

My gosh! It's DECEMBER!! The final month of the year~!! 2008 is just waiting to be ushered in with fireworks she's already expecting...

December is like... my 2nd favorite month of the year.. after May.. coz Christmas is in December!! Tek Jee said I'm totally gung ho about Christmas.. I agree.. A hole in the wallet but patched with loads of love, hugs and kisses, over a full but "empty" pocket anytime!

Put up a tree at Ernest's place in Seremban. Now the bottom of the tree is just waiting to be surrounded by tons of lovely presents from the heart and wrapped with the enthusiasm of a 6 year old~!

Speaking of enthusiasm.. I'm pretty psyched about the little post-Thanksgiving dinner we planned for tomorrow~! I've still yet to know how many mouths we're feeding coz Tek Jee and I need to estimate the amount of "raw materials" we should get...

Well, if the dinner plan is realised, and (hopefully) successful, I'm sure you'll read about it here soon~! Ahhhh~~ December... now, if only we had snow in Malaysia.. Haha!

Oh man.. time really, really flies! To think that, a week from now, Semester 8 is gonna commence! Whoa, B104! Our final semester before we throw our mortarboard as high as we can! Gosh, I can't wait! But at the same time, knowing that I won't be seeing my friends, whom I've grown to love so much, as often as I used to, makes me rather sad... Even now I'm beginning to miss my gang of crazy wackos and the times we've spent together these last four blessed years~!

My friends have been with me through thick and thin, watching me grow from a child to an adult. When I think about it.. I don't think I would have adjusted well to life in IMU if it weren't for them.. They were there for me when all others turned their backs at me and protected me all the way trough.. They stood up for me and fought for my rights and would all cramp in the small toilet cubicle to wipe my tears. Many a times have they turned my frown upside down and made me laugh like there was no tomorrow~!

There's nothing they wouldn't do for me that I wouldn't do for them, of this I am certain. I'm really thankful for the fact that I had the opportunity to meet this bunch of wonderful people who hailed from different parts of Malaysia and I'm proud of the friendship we've nurtured into a sisterhood, with a bond tight enough to withstand the winds of change!

My mum's ex-colleague's son got hitched last Saturday and my whole family were invited for the wedding luncheon at Legacy Hotel Malacca to grace the hall with our presence~! LOL! Anyways, instead of blogging about the wedding reception which is about the same as any other receptions, I decided to blog on fashion no-no's and fashion go-go's I saw at the reception..

2-Days with Jason

I literally wanted to strangle Jason Law! *ARGHHH* He not only made me wait like a bluddy fool and made me queue like a stoopid donkey, he also made me walk so much, I ended up sweating and smelling like a mad pig, and having muscle aches all over!!! *GRRR*

The only thing that kept me from literally burying him alive was the fact that he was a gentleman most of the time... But I have to admit.. I did have a LITTLE bit of fun... despite having a sore throat now coz I couldn't stop nagging at him during the whole 45 mins walk from KLCC to Times Square!

Yesterday (20th Nov) was Sabena and Chern Wuay's 22nd birthday! Ernest, Jee and a couple of others threw a surprise birthday party for them at Secret Recipe in Jusco Seremban 2. 9 people (excluding the birthday boy and girl, including me) joined in the fun!

It was a pretty ok dinner despite the whole bill calculation problem (my theory was right! Somehow the figures came out wrong.. damn) but well, unlike a lot of birthday parties I've been invited to, this one was rather.. quiet.. I guess? But it was pleasant and a birthday celebration nonetheless~!

Deepavali Celebration

On Deepavali night (8th November) at about 9PM, Sek Kuan fetched me from my place with his father's new Honda City which we was literally scared to drive, to go to Puspa's place. Huey Li arrived a lil' later..

Puspa and Sek Kuan - Happily married! Haha! Nah.. they're both straight! Or at least I think so...

Puspa then had to go to his sister-in-law's place in Jementah for a Diwali party, so we left his place and headed to Jayanthi's place for her mother's awesome and mouth-watering Indian dishes~!

The hostess and us parasites.. Jayanthi's grandmother was the one who helped us take our picture.. Jayanthi was telling her Pathy which button to press when she took the picture! She's a pretty good photographer eh?
It was great seeing Puspa and Jayanthi that day.. It's been months since I last saw them! Had AGE the next day due to all the spicy food, but it was well worth it!

Simran & Narinder's Engagement Party

The 10th of November 2007 marks a very special day for my friend, Simran. This is the day she got engaged to her long time boyfriend, Narin! Congrats dear girl! Remember, I wanna be the Godmother of your first kid! LOL!

The engagement was held at Simran's parents' place in Shah Alam. Magdalene and I went there together with Mag at the wheel.. Jen, Qi Yun and her family came later.. The house was packed!! There were easily 50 guests present for Simran's engagement!

The ceremony starts with the blessing of the couple by relatives. The older ones would put money onto the couples laps and feed them sweet cake like things then show their affections before they walk away to let others do the same.

After blessings were given to the newly engaged couple, it was photo taking session! She was just sooo beautiful!! Not like Simran isn't beautiful everyday, but today, she was just positively... glowing!

Later, before lunch, Narin offered us some nuts and sweet stuff to eat.. Simran said that that was tradition and that we had to finish everything including the bitter tasting nuts thingy!

Check out Simran's hands! Took 2 hours to complete that magnificent work of art!! The picture was rotated to 180 degrees so that you can see the picture properly without having to turn your monitor upside down.. Haha!

Took a group picture with Simran before going back... We had to leave early coz my train back to Segamat was to depart at 1400 hours!

I didn't manage to catch my train.. What was suppose to be a 10 minute drive, became a 90 minute drive! And that was also because Mag turned into LDP highway after getting caught in the massive jam on Federal Highway for one and a half hours!!

If she had stayed on that highway and drove on to KL Sentral, who knows how long it would've taken! Besides, I already missed my train while we were still in the jam, so what was the point of continuing our journey on Federal??

I later found out that there were massive jams on most of the major highways due to road blocks conducted simultaneously because the police were trying to control the public from attending an illegal demonstration called the "Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections" or BERSIH being carried out at Dataran Merdeka at that very moment!

Seriously... I've no comment.. I wonder what's the world coming to.. I just know like a lot of other Malaysian road users, I'm really really really pissed off!

Dim Sum

Tek Jee and I went for dim sum this morning at some high class dim sum restaurant here in Seremban.. Don't play-play ar.. Got aircond wan you know!! Haha!

This place is supposedly, the most famous dim sum shop in the whole Seremban, and on Sundays (as seen with my own eyes), it's sooooo packed, people queue up and take numbers just to get in and be seated!

So back to my story..

Like I was saying, we went for dim sum rite? We were sorta ushered to this one table at some secluded spot by a waitress in uniform. And when I say secluded, I mean others get served before us just because their tables are at better "locations"!

To think... just because of that, I didn't get to eat my siew mai!! They ran out of siew mais when the waitress finally came to our table! How sad is that right? A dim sum shop without siew mai!! *FAINT*

Well anyways, like I mentioned before, it was a really high class place.. So Tek Jee and I started worrying about the prices of food and although we were still really hungry (at that time, we only ordered two types of dim sum), we didn't dare to order more.. Until we saw the price list!

My gosh! The prices were like whoaaa!! Crazy cheap!! And at such a place too!! Prices ranged from RM2.00 to RM3.50! We started ordering like crazy after that.. Totally stuffed! Didn't have to eat lunch anymore!

But service there is kinda bad.. Tek Jee called this one old waitress to fill our empty teapot up.. Yes, she came.. But the way she looked at Jee was like she wanted to scratch him or eat him up or maybe even stuff him into a dungeon full of snakes and let him suffer a painful death! That was the kind of look she gave him!

If looks could kill, that look would've killed him in a second! Jee thanked her when she came back with a filled teapot, trying to score some brownie points with her.. But she still gave him "the look"!

Anyways, to conclude my post.. I'd say I wouldn't mind going there again coz the dim sum is not only cheap, it's airconditioned too! But I'm gonna make sure we don't ask that old waitress lady to add water to our tea the next time around! *SHUDDER*
